This was probably released a few months ago but Im just now finally getting around to addressing it. There was little art direction on this job. As some of you how watch the show know there is no texture on Murderface's er face. I used a high rez photo of a femure bone which seemed to work nicely as a texture. Plus a little bevel filter here and there for the little imperfections.

I took this pic on a recent trip back to my home town, NYC. Back in the early nineties I got my first freelance gig designing a logo for my ex girlfriends boss. I won't embarrass myself by revealing the salary I made on it but I was happy to start my career with such a high profile. Little did I know back then that in less than 20 years my art would be roving around the streets of New York and San Franciso.

This is a job I worked on about a month or so ago for the Ben 10 movie. I knew it was going up on the side of the building and that it as going to be enlarged to about 18 feet tall so I worked at around 38 inches a t 300 dpi. which really slowed things down. But you know, I suffer for my art. hehe

San Diego Comic Con. Seeing and meeting all my contemporaries and childhood idols was a very inspiring experience. My inspiration has been renewed and I vow to return next year as a vendor. My flight home was delayed about 4 hours so I did a little doodling with my new set of warm gray Copic markers.

This comes from a job I did when I first started working fro Cartoon Network. Its a poster featured in a calendar which was distributed only amongst industry associates etc. We were trying to emulate the art style as depicted in mexican movie posters from the 30's-60's. It was never sold in stores. Looking at this now I can see how anxious I was at starting a new job. The show Megas XLR has since been cancelled due to low ratings but I thought the writing on the show was pretty clever.

I craeted this illustration in Photoshop for the Cartoon Network DVD released in '05. My supervisors took off the reigns and allowed me to go off on this job and really stretch my wings for which I was extremely greatful. I worked it to the point where the size exceeded a gigabyte (1000 megabytes) which even on a G5 began to hamper me somewhat in managing the file.
